We completed the full restoration of this AC Ace in the summer of 1999. It has won many awards since and was featured in the July 2006 issue of Hemming's Sports & Exotic Car. It was completely stripped down, and all mechanicals including the correct AC engine and overdrive Moss gearbox were rebuilt. All interior aluminum panels were replaced with new ones fabricated by us to the correct patterns. We painted the car in the original dark blue using ICI acrylic polyurethane paint which was colour sanded to perfection and trimmed the interior in grey leather. The new softop is dark blue Haartz cloth. New Michelin radials are fitted to new chrome wire wheels. I subsequently sold this car to an enthusiast in Arizona. Scroll down for the magazine article.
